Training - Tuesdays & Thursdays

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Mandurah High School

4.15pm to 5.45pm

Welcome to the 2010 Season

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Dear Players & Parents

It promises to be a good one this year. We have a very talented squad of players and all players who are part of the team will play every week, unless there are circumstances to preclude them. Our approach to each game will be serious and a mature and responsible attitude is expected from all boys. Whilst the elements of fairness and fun are our main reasons for playing, skill levels, concentration, respect and competitiveness will also be developed.

We will again be training twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4.15pm until 5.45pm on the Mandurah High School oval. The boys should wear proper football boots, mouthguards and jumpers to training at all times; water bottles are also essential. Parents are welcome to attend and participate with training.

This year’s policy regarding training and rain will be the same as in the past. If the weather is inclement and looks as though it will be inclement at the time of training, there will be no training. If it looks as though the weather will clear by training, we will train. You will need to make a decision about whether your son trains and if training is cancelled, be prepared to come and pick him up. As was my expectation last year, I expect contact from parent(s) if your son can’t train.

We are looking at the possibility of taking the team to Melbourne in 2011. To this end, we will be looking for expressions of interest from parents to make this happen.

This year we are again fortunate to have three ladies who are going to share the responsibility of managing the team - Leah, Sharon & Tracey. Thanks ladies for sharing this important task.

It is going to take many people to help with the running of the team this year and so the ladies will be looking for people to step up to regularly do jobs. As most of you will be supporting the boys each week, helping out will be an extension of that support. Please consider this request.

Jobs that will be rostered include:  supplying oranges, washing jumpers, goal umpires, voting for fairest and best, interchange and time keeping. Can we please also request that should parents not be able to assist on their rostered day, that they take it upon themselves to swap dates with another parent.

Our first game is: Saturday 1 May

Regards

Charles Garrett
